Michael Wu is a California attorney whose practice focuses on real estate and business litigation. He represents individuals and companies in a broad range of civil matters, providing careful analysis and practical legal solutions.
Before joining Blake Law, Michael gained experience assisting counsel in complex civil disputes, including construction-related matters. While at UC Irvine School of Law, Michael served as a law clerk with the Real Estate Fraud Division of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. He also served in an in-house capacity for a commercial real estate investment portfolio, where he supported underwriting and deal sourcing efforts, conducted due diligence, and provided legal guidance on portfolio management matters. Michael understands the concerns facing commercial and residential real estate owner-operators and approaches each matter with that perspective in mind.
Michael speaks fluent Mandarin and enjoys competing in Olympic weightlifting in his free time.
Representative Experience:
Construction Defect Litigation. Assisted counsel in obtaining an arbitration award in a complex construction defect matter involving a high-end residential build in Orange County
Commercial Leasing and Landlord Representation. Assisted in negotiating and drafting more than $50 million in commercial and industrial lease transactions for warehouse properties ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 square feet in the San Gabriel Valley..
Investor Deal Origination and Representation. Supported investors in the acquisition of a $5.4 million industrial property, including sourcing, due diligence, review of purchase and sale documentation, tenant estoppels, and resolution of boundary-related issues.
